INBio's publishing house, Editorial INBio, works to disseminate and increase knowledge and appreciation of biodiversity in tropical America. It generates high quality, scientifically rigorous publications and products in a variety of formats (books, printed and electronic materials, didactic games, etc.), for different target audiences.

Since its establishment in July 2001, Editorial INBio has published more than 120 titles, including: Guide of Birds of Costa Rica (only in Spanish), Mammals of Costa Rica, Costa Rica Bats, Costa Rica Mushrooms, Páramos de Costa Rica (only in Spanish), Árboles de Costa Rica (only in Spanish), Costa Rica native ornamental plants and Butterflies and Moths of Costa Rica.

Also, Editorial INBio has produced 30 educational materials for teacher and children, most of them in Spanish: Aprendiendo a conservar, Insectos tropicales, Comprendamos la biodiversidad and Hurgando en los secretos de la vida (only in Spanish). For the year 2007, the following books will be published: Manual para el manejo de mariposarios (only in spanish), Diccionario de la biodiversidad, Glass frogs of Costa Rica, Tree species of the Cabo Blanco strict nature reserve: selected species and many more.
