The Communications unit contributes to INBio’s mission through the ongoing dissemination of information about Costa Rican biodiversity, as well as supporting the institute’s tasks in other spheres.

The Communications unit, consisting of a journalist and a public relations officer, is the liaison between the media and INBio. Its work includes the detection of possible topics for dissemination, preparing press releases, coordinating interviews, press conferences and other communications activities, and attending to journalists.

Similarly, the unit keeps INBio’s various target audiences informed about its work by coordinating visits, participating in fairs and preparing specific products such as bulletins, annual reports, journalistic articles and promotional materials for the institution.
